River Oaks is a wealthy suburb north of Galveston.  The
residents of this largely Victorian community would like to
pretend that the railroad doesn’t exist but they insist that
Castle Rock & Pacific’s passenger service be scheduled
around their needs to commute to and from Galveston and
points beyond.  This quaint little town has passed an
ordinance prohibiting the use of locomotive whistles, horns
and bells as they do not want their peaceful environment
disturbed.  Unfortunately, our train crews often forget and
seem to find extra uses for horn and whistle when passing
through the quiet village of River Oaks.  River Oaks has no
rail served industry and is located on the lower level of the
railroad at the bottom of the helix that joins the middle and
upper operating levels between Indian Gap, Texas and
Galveston.
